Bar code printer The easiest and most accurate type of data capture is by using bar codes. Bar code printers print a unique custom printed label or a batch of identical custom printed labels accurately and speedily. The type of bar code printer required depends greatly on the type of custom printed label you wish to produce. These can be categorised as follows: Width: The width of custom printed labels produced by printers can be from 2” to 10”. Resolution: Custom printed labels can be printed at a resolution of between 203 and 400 dpi. Speed: Custom printed labels can be printed at a speed of up to 12” per second. There are also two types of bar code printer, direct thermal and thermal transfer. A direct thermal bar code printer uses a printhead to heat specially prepared labels to produce the custom printed labels. This is best for custom printed labels that are designed for temporary use. A thermal transfer bar code printer uses heat to bond a thin layer onto a custom printed label and is designed for custom printed labels that are intended for longer use. LSL can provide custom printed labels for any purpose, depending on the storage and use of the label when it is in use. Should the labels be required to be stored in extreme conditions, LSL can provide the correct label to fulfil the requirements. Materials used for labels can vary from paper to ceramic and can be custom printed to your specification.
